Ann Charow served as a Lieutenant Commander (LCDR) in the United States Navy (Nurse Corps) across three major conflicts: World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. She served from October of 1942 until May of 1970. Her several military decorations included the American Defense Service Medal. Her assignments included the US Naval Hospital Great Lakes, the US Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, and the US Naval Hospital Newport. She passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield, IL, and was buried near family at the Holy Dormition Cemetery in Benld. She was survived by one sister and several cousins.
